GNACK

Ubisoft & ETPA Gacha event

Ubisoft & ETPA Gacha lasts 72 hours non-stop and is open this year to 150 student participants.

Teams are formed on the first day of the event.

The jury is composed of developers from Ubisoft Montpellier and accompanies the teams during the competition.

Once the theme is revealed (the "Russian Doll" this year), each team is imposed technical design and UX constraints. These constraints are in the form of playing cards, designed for the occasion.

For this event I and my team, we didn't win the Big Award but we end up Seconds! Still very proud of the game :)

Pitch of the game

The game is based on a asymmetric 1vs1 where the role of the player turn every time a player scores a point. In one side the first player controls a little monster that can move between some platform in 2D, his main goal is to scape from the other player. On the other side the second player controls a big monster, but more specifically his mouth! He will have to rotate that mouth and with a unique slam, try to smash the other player. If the player that controls the mouth achieve to smash the other player he wins a point, if not, the other player wins a point. The game is very nervous and the roles change very quickly!

My role in this game was mainly as Lead Programmer. With a team of 5 Programmers my main objectives were to supervise and control the GitHub repository where we were working, and the integration of the mechanics that the others or I programmed into the game.
